Judges 14:5-9

What an interesting symbolism of the spiritual to the natural.  Her is the Lion, our enemy attacking samson on his way to marriage.  The devil roams around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 peter 5:8).  Samson was full of lust.  His heart was for the lady’s.  He gave up his greatest secrets to the woman twice.  The lion pounces and the Spirit of the Lord comes upon Samson.  He rips the Lion apart with his bare hands.  The trial and victory builds confidence and produces something sweet.  It even ends up feeding him.  In the middle of an attack it is hard to see the honey it will produce, but when we go back and explore the victory it feed us and those around us.  It was a quiet victory.  He didn’t boast in the victory or in his strength at this time but its sweetness lingered on the lips of him and his family.
